Peer-Review Policy
All review processes are conducted using a single-blind review method, managed directly by the editorial board. In this method, the identity of the reviewer remains confidential and is not disclosed to the author. Reviewers who are invited to evaluate manuscripts for Indonesian Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education (IJAIE) are required to adhere to the journal Ethics for Reviewers guidelines.
General Requirements
Each submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two (2) reviewers who specialize in the relevant field. Prospective reviewers are selected based on their expertise and the relevance of their specialization to the manuscript topic. The duration of the review process may vary, typically one round of review is expected to be completed within four to eight (4-8) weeks.
Review Context & Criteria
To maintain high publication standards in Indonesian Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education (IJAIE), reviewers will evaluate the quality and rigor of the manuscript's content. The aspects considered during the review process include:
- Title & Abstract: Does the title accurately reflect the content? Is the abstract comprehensive yet concise (covering background, methods, results, and conclusion)?
- Background and Objectives: Are the research problems and objectives presented clearly? Is the gap analysis sufficient?
- Research Methodology: Has the research been conducted using appropriate and relevant methods? Are the tools, materials, and procedures described in sufficient detail to allow replication?
- Results and Discussion: Are the results presented clearly? Does the author analyze and interpret the findings deeply? Are the discussions supported by relevant references (comparing with previous studies)?
- Conclusions: Do the conclusions answer the research objectives? Are the findings supported by data rather than just a general summary?
- References: Are the references primary (journals/proceedings), current (last 5-10 years), and formatted according to APA Style?
Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor will make the final decision. The possible decisions include:
- Accept Submission: The submission will be accepted without revisions.
- Revisions Required: The submission will be accepted after minor changes have been made.
- Resubmit for Review: The submission needs major changes and will undergo another round of review.
- Decline Submission: The submission will not be published.
Ethical Responsibilities (AI Usage)
To uphold the strict confidentiality of the peer review process, reviewers are strictly prohibited from uploading any part of the submitted manuscript into external Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.). This action is considered a serious breach of confidentiality and data privacy.
The review report must be the product of the reviewer's own critical assessment. The use of Generative AI to generate the review report is not permitted, as it undermines the principle of expert human evaluation.
